Kabilang sa mga naghain ng kandidatura noong Lunes, Oktubre 7, 2024, ang actress-entrepreneur na si Ara Mina at ang Miss Universe 2011 3rd runner-up at ngayon ay national director ng Miss Universe Philippines na si Shamcey Supsup-Lee.
Sila ay tatakbong konsehal sa lungsod ng Pasig, sa ilalim ng tiket ng negosyanteng si Sarah Discaya, na makakalaban ng incumbent mayor ng Pasig na si Vico Sotto.
Si Shamcey ay tumatakbong councilor sa District 1, at si Ara aman ay sa District 2.
ARA MINA
Sa panayam ni MJ Felipe ng ABS-CBN News kay Ara, sinabi nitong handa na siyang tumakbo ngayon.
Ilang eleksyon na ang nagdaan kung saan lumulutang ang pangalan ni Ara na isa umano sa mga tatakbong artista. Pero ngayon lang siya natuloy.
Aniya, “Yes, I think after 14 years… Kasi yung span of 14 years, every election, may nag-e-encourage, meron pag-iisip din tumakbo.
“Pero ngayon lang ako tumuloy. I think I am physically, mentally, emotionally prepared.”
Ano ang mga nais niyang iprayoridad sa lungsod ng Pasig sakaling palarin siyang mahalal?
Saad ni Ara, “Well, alam ng mga tao, I have advocacy, PWD [Persons With Disabilities].
“Isa yun sa gusto ko maging more friendly ang city, PWD-friendly.
“And mag-focus din ako sa urban poor. And siyempre, sa women.”
Ano ang masasabi niya sa batikos sa celebrities na wala umanong alam sa public service at ginagawa lamang negosyo ang pulitika?
Ayon kay Ara, “Huwag naman masyado anuhin yung mga celebrities.
“Kasi, alalahanin niyo, ang mga celebrities nagpapaiyak, nagpapasaya rin sa inyo.
“Siguro ito yung mission namin ngayon. Pero kung meron man silang bad experience, huwag naman siguro lahatin.
“Ako, bilang isang kandidato, gusto ko lang sabihin na kung bibigyan niyo ako ng chance, hindi ko hahayaan na masayang yung boto niyo sa akin.
“Hindi ko hahayaan na mabigo kayo sa pagsuporta sa akin.”
Paano niya nasabing kaya na niyang maglingkod sa lungsod ng Pasig?
Paliwanag ni Ara, “Marami na tayong pinagdaanan and I’m very blessed in my life.
“Wala na akong mahihiling pa. So, tumutulong tayo kahit wala pa tayo sa politika.
“But, siguro para mas lalong lumawak ang pagtulong ko, kailangan na dito na pumasok ako para mas marami akong matulungan.”
Sumuporta kay Ara sa kanyang paghahain ng kandidatura ang nakababatang kapatid na si Cristine Reyes.
Si Ara ay lumaki sa Santolan, Pasig. Doon din siya nag-aral ng elementary sa Alice in Wonderland School.
Ang kanyang mga magulang ay si Romeo Reyes at ang dating aktres na si Francis Marie Klenk, na kilala rin sa screen name na Venus Imperial.
Si Venus ay naging aktres, Mutya ng Pasig 1967, at tinagurian ding kauna-unahang Eskinol Girl.
Samantala, tatakbo rin sa 2025 elections ang asawa ni Ara na si Dave Almarinez bilang nominee sa Turismo pary-list.
Kasama rin ni Dave na nominee rito si former Tourism secretary Wanda Tulfo-Teo.

Mula sa pagiging pageant director, nais naman daw ni Shamcey Supsup na magsilbi ngayon sa bayan.
Bakit siya nagdesisyong tumakbo?
Pahayag ng beauty queen sa panayam ng ABS-CBN News, “Hindi alam ng nakararami that I’m a Pasigueño since 2013.
“My kids have been born here. We’re living here. This is my home, Pasig, talaga.
“And you know, in 2022 when I ran for ARTE [Advocates for Retail, Textile, Tradition, Entertainment, & the Creative Sector] party-list, this is where I went around Pasig City.
“E, nakita ko yung kabilang mukha ng Pasig City. Because I’ve always lived in Barangay Ugong.
“My work is in Ortigas Center. But at that time, I was given a chance to go talaga sa mga kusuluk-sulukan ng Pasig.
“And I realized na, ‘Bakit pa ako lalayo? Dito pa lang sa tahanan ko, there’s so much that I want to do if I get the chance.'”
Malayo ang pulitika sa nakasanayan niyang mundo, paano siya naghahanda?
Sabi ni Shamcey: “You know, alam mo, even beauty pageants, nung sumali ako, ito was my first time.
“And hindi rin ako pageantera. A lot of people are saying, ‘Why are you joining a pageant when you are already an accomplished architect and you have other things that you can do?’
“But I want them to change the misconception of how people see beauty queens.
“I want them to see beauty queens are not just faces or identities.
“They’re accomplished. They’re intelligent. They have opinions.
“They have causes that they want to fight for. And I also want to change that in politics.
“I know a lot of people would say, artista, celebrity, beauty queen, papasok sa larangan ng politika.
“And I want to change that. I hope that they see my credentials, my values, my principles.
“What I believe in and what I fought for.
“And I hope that when they vote for me, they don’t vote me because kilala nila ako or because beauty queen ako.
“I hope that when they choose to vote me, it’s because they see that I am capable, I have the heart.”
Ano ang mga nais niyang i-advocate sa Pasig?
Ayon kay Shamcey, “First of all, sabi ko nga, wala pang babae sa council.
“And for District 1, we really want, of course, more women empowerment.
“We want to provide women equal opportunities in everything—leadership, entrepreneurial.
“We want to equip them, empower them, na hindi kayo babae lang.
“That the society will tell you, ‘No, this is your place. Walang limit to what you can do if there’s support.’
“So we want to help not just women, pero karamihan talaga for health, reproductive health, maternal health, mental health.”
Dahil isa rin siyang arkitekto, nais din daw niyang tutukan ang imprastuktura sa Pasig.
“So, apart from women empowerment, as an architect, I want to push for infrastructure in Pasig.
“I want to be able to be part of building the city, creating new facilities, hospitals, schools.”
Samantala, tumatakbo namang nominee ng ARTE pary-list ang asawa ni Shamcey na si Lloyd Lee.
