Apple’s year isn’t over yet! iPad, MacBook Here’s what else the brand has in store for 2024

Just over a week after Apple’s latest keynote—where the iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods took center stage—the tech giant isn’t done with 2024 just yet. As we approach the final months of the year, there are still plenty of exciting updates and product launches expected from Cupertino. If Apple sticks to its usual pattern, we’re likely in for another event before the holidays, possibly in October or November.
So, what can we expect? According to industry analysts and tech insiders, there are a few key products we’re anticipating before year’s end. Here’s a rundown of what might be coming soon.
New Macs on the Horizon
It seems almost certain that Apple is gearing up to refresh its Mac lineup, starting with the Mac mini. The current model received the M2 chip back in January 2023, but now there are signs that an updated version could be on the way. Recent code leaks suggest that a new Mac mini could feature five USB-C ports, likely powered by Apple’s upcoming M4 chip.
The iMac might also be in line for an upgrade. The 24-inch model got the M3 chip last November, so while it’s not guaranteed, an iMac with the M4 processor wouldn’t be too surprising. And speaking of updates, rumors are swirling about a brand-new MacBook Pro featuring the M4 chip, just a year after the M3 version launched.
As for the MacBook Air, it was refreshed earlier this year, so we probably won’t see a new model until sometime in 2025.
What About the iPads?
It’s been a busy year for Apple’s tablet lineup, with new iPad Pro and iPad Air models sporting the M4 chip. But one model that hasn’t seen an update in a while is the entry-level iPad. The basic iPad hasn’t been refreshed in two years, so a new version could be on the way—perhaps even with Apple’s growing integration of its AI-driven features, like Apple Intelligence.
And then there’s the iPad mini, which hasn’t been touched in three years. It’s long overdue for an upgrade, and we might see at least a chip update if not more significant changes.
