Apple releases new public betas for iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, here are the new features

Apple has released the second public beta versions of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, offering users a preview of upcoming features set to launch in October.
A standout feature in the latest beta is the ability to drag and drop files between a mirrored iPhone and Mac when both devices are running the new software. This functionality builds upon the iPhone Mirroring feature introduced in macOS Sequoia, providing users with a faster alternative to AirDrop for file transfers.
Apple Intelligence, a cornerstone of the upcoming software releases, now includes improved writing tools in the Notes app and intelligent notification summaries. These features are available to users of iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 models, M1 or later Macs and iPads set to US English, with some regional restrictions.
The Control Center on iPadOS 18.1 has been updated with standalone controls for Wi-Fi and VPN, as well as an option to reset to the default layout. MacOS users will find a new toggle for Low Power Mode in the Menu Bar.
Additional improvements include new Shortcuts app actions for Control Center, Health, and Apple Card. The company has also implemented various interface and design tweaks across the operating systems.
Apple is expected to release weekly beta updates leading up to the public launch in mid-to-late October. While the beta program offers early access to new features, users should be aware of potential bugs and performance issues.
The release of these public betas signals Apple’s continued focus on AI integration and cross-device functionality, setting the stage for a significant update to its ecosystem later this year.
