Apple’s next big event for 2024 could introduce the new M4 silicon on the MacBook Pro lineup and even the Mac Mini.

Apple is set to end the year with an M4 bang and we might see them come down with the new MacBook Pro models this month as per reports. The company has scheduled previous Mac upgrades during this time of the year, so it is easy to believe the reports and we could see Apple announce the new products.

The company has already given us a detailed look at the M4 processor with the new iPad Pro model earlier this year, so we just need a hardware upgrade for the MacBook Pros. But it is unlikely to be the only product to be part of the lineup and we over here shed the details as we look ahead to the launch in the coming weeks.

Apple October 2024 Event: M4 MacBook Pro, iPad Mini And What Else?

Apple is going to revamp its MacBook Pro lineup, as well as a redesigned Mac Mini, both of which will use the new M4 silicon, as per a recent Bloomberg report. All in all, we could see new iMacs, a low-end 14-inch MacBook Pro, high-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros and Mac Minis, all featuring M4 processors.

According to the report, the M4 chip will primarily improve the overall performance, but one Mac model will undergo significant alterations. This could be a new Mac mini model, which the analyst claims will be released this year.

Apple is reportedly ending the 8GB RAM model for MacBooks and starting its lineup with a base of 16GB RAM from now on as the new macOS version supports Apple Intelligence features.

The report also points out that the M4-powered Macs will support up to 32GB memory which is a big bump on the 24GB RAM support offered with the M3-powered Macs. Apple and other tech giants have highlighted that running AI tasks and hardware requires more power and the decision to make 16GB RAM as the base option will be much welcomed.

The iPad Mini will be an intriguing watch, also expected to be announced at the event, making it Apple’s latest product to make a comeback after a long time. Our estimates say the launch could happen during the second or third week of October and we’ll probably see Apple share the event teaser in the coming days.
