Another Crab’s Treasure Hits PS Plus, But Gamers Are Split Over the Lineup
With this announcement, PlayStation managed to prick the ears of gamers worldwide, prompting many to raise their claws and eyebrows. Another Crab’s Treasure is there in the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, and more titles are set to join it in the Days of Play month of June. Some gamers are rejoicing while others… Well, let’s just say the editor isn’t getting confetti from them.
The tweet from PlayStation was pretty much fun in tone, with words of “Raise your claws and prepare to fight,” while reply comments were mixed with a plethora of sentiments from excitement to disappointment. Another gamer, @knarkhund, chimed in with unabashed excitement: “Another Crab’s Treasure is great!” The other one, @LeeDylan81691, had no time for that and labeled the trio of “three terrible games.” Then, of course, there was @RandolphBronson, who chimed in “If you wanted to make a splash, you should have dropped Spider-Man 2.” Ouch.
And then, there’s the “Skull and Bones” affair. Yet another addition to the catalog is Ubisoft’s pirate game mocked for its claims of being a “Quadruple-A” title. In spite of all this hate, there were people like @ZReesey who were actually excited to try it, while @TootyFrooty420 just laughed at it with a “SKULL AND BONES LMAO.” And @Underwrldempres cracks: “She wanna shake it for a crustacean.” No further explanation needed—vibes.
Then, the PS Plus subscription model also swept under the rug of drama. @wert17852738822 called it a “scam.” There was a barrage of criticisms about how it benefits mostly new customers while loyal players get “kicked in the teeth.” Then, @ISuXGaming1 came out saying they left because the thing kept crashing and just kept getting more expensive. Gasp. Then, @Doodlegoose3 rubs salt on it by saying PlayStation’s just pushing people back to PC gaming.
Not everyone filled this with saltiness. There were, of course, some excited players among them, @LiveFreeOrDie2B. Some others tried to organize the serious business of begging for better classics to be put on the catalog like @Ermor666. (“Could you guys do better with the classics catalog? So many good PS1 and PS2 games…”) Meanwhile, @voxandvalvr was on it right now with Killzone 1, 2, and 3 for July. Shoot, shoot, shooters.
So, what are we thinking? Another Crab’s Treasure is in the building, Skull and Bones is…also in the building, and PlayStation Plus continues to divide opinion shamefully. There has been equal expression of excitement and horror; one thing is for sure-gamers certainly know how to say exactly what is on their minds. Ahh, what a beautiful thing that is. So, what about you? Raise your claws and dive in or keep the fight ongoing on Twitter?
