Aeta community gets $99,000-water system

An Aeta community in Barangay Nabuclod in Floridablanca town will soon have access to clean water.

Ok Saturday, May 31, the Rotary International District 3750 (South Korea) and District 3790 (Philippines) launched a $99,000 water system project in the area.

The initiative includes the installation of a deep-well water pump, filtration system, and comfort rooms for the Camachile Elementary School.

The water system is also expected to benefit nearby Aeta households through extended water lines.

“Initially, we will build a deep-well water system for the school’s handwashing and sanitation needs, but we also target to bring the supply to households,” said Maureen Gueco, President of the Rotary Club of Dolores.

RC Dolores identified Sitio Camachile as the beneficiary, with support from South Korea’s Rotary Club of Saesongtan.

The project is funded through Rotary’s Global Grant program. It is expected to be completed in six to eight months.

Seo Dong Wook, President of Rotary Club of Saesongtan, assured the continued partnership of the two Rotary Clubs to provide assistance to needy communities in Pampanga.

“We promise to always listen to the needs of those facing challenges and do our best to help,” said Seo Dong Wook, President of Rotary Club of Saesongtan.

Also present during the event were District Governors Jae Jin Kang (3750) and Ariel Jersey (3790), Past President Jung Suk Lee, and Incoming Dolores Club President Albert Lacanlale.

The group also distributed 300 hygiene kits and food packs to Aeta residents in the area.
