AdDU Women Volleyball Wins Araw ng Dabaw, Gears Up for CEAP
THE Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) College Women’s Volleyball Team, led by the dynamic and driven Coach JC Velasquez, has carved a golden chapter in university sports history by clinching the first-ever Araw ng Dabaw Volleyball Championship for the Blue Knights. This landmark victory showcased the team’s athletic prowess and mental toughness and set a strong tone for the future of women’s volleyball at the university.
Coming off a dominant campaign in the Davao Association of Colleges and Schools (Dacs) Sportsfest, where they emerged as champions, the Lady Blue Knights have now shifted their focus to the national stage as they gear up for their upcoming participation in the Catholic Educators Association of the Philippines (Ceap) Meet.
Coach JC Velasquez, whose disciplined yet empowering approach has reinvigorated the squad, emphasized the significance of these back-to-back milestones. The Blue Knights showed that they are not just contenders but champions in every sense of the word.
The Ceap meet, which gathers Catholic school champions nationwide, will serve as a proving ground for AdDU’s aspirations to be recognized among the elite volleyball programs in Philippine collegiate sports. The goal is not just to represent Ateneo de Davao well, but to inspire other student-athletes in Mindanao to dream big. They play for the school, the region, and for the pride of being Champion Blue Knights.
This new era of women’s volleyball at AdDU is not just about winning trophies—it’s about building a culture of excellence, character, and purpose. The recent string of victories signals more than athletic dominance; it represents the resilience and potential of AdDU’s student-athletes.
From the hardcourt to the classroom, the Lady Blue Knights continue to embody the Ignatian values of “Fortes in Fide”—strong in faith—as they rise as leaders and champions in the making.
Champion Blue Knights. Champion Student-Athletes. The journey has just begun.
