Roland Reveals Its New Mini Bridge Cast One Interface For Gamers And Streamers

Roland’s newest addition to the brand’s Bridge Cast family of online gaming and livestreaming products has just been announced. The Bridge Cast One is a compact desktop interface with streamlined multi-function controls including dual bus mixes, vocal transformer effects, fast-access presets and support for a broadcast-quality microphone and headphones. With the companion Bridge Cast app, users can access more audio tools, royalty-free background music and sound effects using BGM Cast on Roland Cloud.

The Bridge Cast One lets streamers simplify their setups and improve their streamed content with Roland sound. The device has a footprint small enough to fit on a cluttered desk and features simplified controls while keeping the main audio features on the larger Bridge Cast and Bridge Cast X models. An onboard DSP takes care of the audio load, keeping the host computer’s processing power for gaming and streaming.

With the Bridge Cast One, users can set up separate sound mixes for personal monitoring and online streaming. The personal mix can be set up to prioritize game audio and voice chat, while the stream mix can be tweaked to boost viewer engagement. The device has an XLR input with a high-quality preamp that has plenty of gain and switchable phantom power for running condenser mics, eliminating the need for external level-boosting devices.

The panel on the Bridge Cast One has a simplified workflow consisting of a large control dial, five buttons plus a dedicated headphone level control. Pressing the dial enables users to cycle through three different level control assignments, while the three buttons below the dial can be assigned to operate different functions. The two other buttons provide fast access to a voice transformer and Game EQ on/off and preset selection.

The companion Bridge Cast app opens access to more advanced features for real-time control when streaming. Users can adjust mic settings, apply audio processing, tweak voice transformer settings, set up Game EQ presets and more.

With support for 5.1 or 7.1 virtual surround sound for headphones and stereo speaker systems, computer audio is converted to virtual surround sound via the USB connection to create an immersive sound with virtual speaker adjustment using the Bridge Cast app. This feature will also be added to the Bridge Cast and Bridge Cast X models in an upcoming firmware update.

BGM CAST extends the tools in the Bridge Cast app by providing access to a royalty-free music library. A free Roland Account has dozens of background music tracks and sound effects that users can use free of charge. Signing up for Roland Cloud Core membership through the app also unlocks thousands of additional music tracks and hundreds of sound effects. New selections are added each month.

Roland will be showing its Bridge Cast One at TwitchCon San Diego 2024, which takes place from September 20 to 22 at the San Diego Convention Center in California. Roland will have a dedicated booth for the gaming industry, where attendees can get hands-on experience with the new Bridge Cast One and other products in the Bridge Cast family.
