Big Spring Master Gardeners in Erwin – WGRV.com

The Big Spring Master Gardeners are gearing up for fall with some upcoming opportunities, some of which registration may be limited.

On September 14, 2024, BSMGA will be answering questions at the Sassafras Moon Herbal Festival. There will be free classes and 40 herbal vendors. The festival will be held in Erwin at 449 Park Street from 9:00 to 3:00. This is a free event.

On September 21, 2024, BSMGA will be back at the Depot Street Farmers Market to host an apple tasting and answer questions. Come sample various apple varieties and vote for your favorite! This event is free of charge.

On September 28, 2024, Master Gardeners Ask Us! Booth will be set up at the Fall Festival of Nations held at Notre Dame Church at 212 Mount Bethel Road in Greeneville. BSMGA will answer your fall gardening questions as well as give information about upcoming events and how to get involved in BSMGA. There will be food booths, music, and fun from 9:00 to 4:00.

Online Workshops

BSMGA also offers Monday Musings. These are offered monthly and cover a variety of topics. The next musing titled “Wildcrafting and Foraging” will be hosted by Melody Rose via Zoom on September 30, 2024. These sessions are free of charge. Fall Workshop: “Welcome Home”

This is a 4 part series on home landscaping in Tennessee will cover topics such as soils, climate, annuals & perennials, planting trees & shrubs and what grows best in our local area. Workshops will consist of hands-on activities, guest speakers and Q&A sessions.

Join the fun and register for these October classes which will be held in the new Extension Office at 303 Takoma Ave in Greeneville. The cost of the program is $40 and registration is limited to 40 participants. For more information and registration details, please visit BSMGA.com.
