Actress and beauty queen Franki Russell expresses her gratitude for the opportunity to compete in an international pageant once more.

On August 30, 2024, Franki was officially announced as the finalist representing New Zealand at the inaugural Miss Cosmo International pageant, set to be held in Vietnam this October.
This announcement followed the news that Franki will no longer compete in the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico this November.
In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) on September 1, 2024, Franki acknowledges that although missing Miss Universe 2024 is unfortunate, life’s unexpected turns often lead to even better opportunities.
She is excited to be part of the inaugural Miss Cosmo International pageant.
In her words, “I feel like life doesn’t work out the way you expect, but it can be even better. I mean to be part of the first Miss Cosmo ever, and we’ve got Paula Shugart who came from another pageant, and it’s bigger and better, and I’m excited.”
Paula Shugart, the former president of the Miss Universe Organization, has been announced as a judge for this year’s Miss Cosmo International competition, marking her return to the world of pageants.
Franki is especially excited to fly to Vietnam for the competition in a few days. She mentioned that she has been finalizing preparations.
She says, “Oh my gosh, lapit na! I’m leaving in nine days for Vietnam so… It’s everyday walking training, Q&A… I mean, hair and make-up lessons.
“Today we made time to watch the fashion show, so I’m excited.”
Will she be wearing Filipino-made gowns for the pageant?
Franki confirmed, “Definitely, you’ll see Filipino designers, and, yeah, I’m super excited.
“I am representing New Zealand, but we’re here in the Philippines, so I’m happy to be doing my training here.”
The grand coronation of Miss Cosmo International 2024 will be held on October 5, 2024, at Phu Tho Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

PEP’s interview with Franki happens at the finale of Bench Fashion Week Holiday 2024.
When asked about her favorite part of the event, Franki replies, “The finale was amazing. When everyone came out in their sexy bodies… It’s like all ages, all everything… I love inclusivity this year. So, stunning! It was hot!”
This year’s Bench Body fashion show features a host of celebrities, including Sunshine Cruz, Ina Raymundo, Max Collins, Kelvin Miranda, Kaila Estrada, Elyson de Dios, Kira Balinger, Kirk Bondad, and many others.
