PlayStation Plus gamers warned they've until March to claim free store credit

You’ve got a little more time left

PlayStation Plus gamers are urging each other to take advantage of snagging some reward points before the opportunity vanishes in March 2025.

To give you some background on this, PlayStation announced recently that purchases of PlayStation Plus subscriptions would no longer give reward points for their Stars program.

PlayStation is still in the midst of celebrating their 30th anniversary

After somebody on Reddit was confused that they were still receiving points, it was made clear by other users that March is the cut-off.

So, you can take this as a public service announcement, or a reminder, that if you purchase a subscription to PlayStation Plus before March you will still earn points for that payment.

Of course, the bigger the payment the more points you will earn, so it pays to sign up for a year if you want a tasty batch of points added to your total.

If you’re unsure what I’m even talking about with points and rewards, I can explain; PlayStation has a rewards program called PlayStation Stars, which gives players points for completing certain goals or buying digital products.

These points slowly build up and can be redeemed against things like digital items or, most importantly to avid users, PSN store credit.

500 points equals a £5/$5 credit, 1,000 points is £10/$10, for example.

It’s a great way to build up some money for discounts on future purchases, and many will game the system to earn as many points as they can.

Fans of the program are pretty upset that the reward for buying subscriptions is ending.

“I’m gonna miss this…” laments one Redditor.

In reply, MidnightPurple55 says, “It’s real dumb that they’re taking it away.”

If your subscription is up for renewal, or you want to take advantage of the reward points before the option disappears, then you’ve got a couple of months left.
