– Around noon today, Col. Buslig went to the Quezon City Prosecutors Office to file criminal charges against VP Sara, VPSPG chief Col. Lachica, and several John Does and Jane Does

– According to Col. Buslig, the cases he and other officers filed are direct assault, disobedience, and grave coercion

– He said this was in connection with the events that transpired last Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center

Around noon today, Wednesday, November 27, Col. Buslig formally filed criminal charges against VP Sara, VPSPG chief Col. Lachica, and a couple of John Does and Jane Does, at the Quezon City Prosecutors Office.

In an ambush interview with the media, Col. Buslig said he and other officers filed direct assault, disobedience, and grave coercion cases, which were all criminal offenses identified the Revised Penal Code.

“We have filed criminal complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte, and Col. Raymund Lachica, and several John Does and Jane Does. We have referred the case of direct assault, disobedience and grave coercion,” Col. Buslig said during the ambush interview.

“Sir ano po yung background ng isinampa nating reklamo?” a member of the media asked.

“This is in reference to what happened last Saturday at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center,” the QCPD Chief answered.

“Ano ba yung specifics na ginawa sa mga tauhan mo?” another media person asked.

“I don’t want to explain the specifics because it is already in the Fiscal’s Office so we’ll just wait kung ano man ang kanilang sasabihin dito sa isinampa naming kaso at mga pieces of evidence na isinama namin,” Col. Buslig said.

It can be recalled that VP Sara, along with her own protection detail, went to the VMMC to support her Chief of Staff, Atty. Zuleika Lopez.

Sara Zimmerman Duterte-Carpio, commonly known as Inday Sara, is a Filipino lawyer and politician who currently serves as the 15th vice president of the Philippines. She is notable for being the third female vice president, the third vice president from Mindanao, and the youngest vice president in the country’s history. Duterte held the position of secretary of education until July 19, 2024. She is the daughter of the 16th president, Rodrigo Duterte, and has served as the mayor of Davao City from 2016 to 2022 and from 2010 to 2013. Additionally, she was Davao City’s vice mayor from 2007 to 2010.

Last Monday, VP Sara made a statement about the threat she issued against Pres. Bongbong Marcos, First Lady Liza Marcos and House Speaker Martin Romualdez. The vice president, in GMA News’ report said that her statement was “maliciously taken out of logical context.” Her statement came after the National Security Council said that it considers all kinds of threats against the president as a matter of national security. She thereafter questioned why was it that she, being a member of the NSC was not invited to the meetings.

It can be recalled that VP Sara openly cursed President Bongbong Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and House Speaker Martin Romualdez. Duterte held a midnight press conference on Saturday, Nov. 23, and called out the alleged persecution that the Office of the Vice President is getting from the administration. She also dug up alleged lies like getting the price of rice to drop to P20 per kilo, and even accused the First Lady had prior knowledge about the questioned envelopes.
