Woman in viral ‘standing reservation’ parking incident apologizes, asks netizens to stop re-uploading video
The woman in the viral “human reservation parking” incident has apologized for her actions, pleading with netizens to refrain from reuploading the video on social media.
The said video, which circulated online during the “Undas” break, captured the woman in pink getting into an altercation with an SUV passenger after she stood in a parking slot at a cemetery in Las Piñas City, in an attempt to reserve it.
A vehicle awaited on the side, while the said woman firmly stood on the parking space while holding on to her phone on call despite the presence of parking attendants and being urged by the bystanders to leave the spot.
Another woman eventually forced the woman in pink aside, clearing the way for the waiting vehicle to park.
In a statement to GMA’s State of the Nation, the woman in question explained that she thought of reserving the spot because she was with her senior citizen parents and children.
The woman went on to admit that her actions were inappropriate, saying she already reached out and made amends with the other party.
She also pleaded with the public to stop re-uploading the video, expressing regrets over her actions.
“Sa lahat ng nagre-reupload ng video, please stop na po kasi ang akin lang po, ok na both sides. Sorry, nagkamali lang po talaga… nagsisi naman po ako,” she added.
Although not illegal, a law professor told the outlet that the woman should have had her vehicle parked in the space first, rather than standing in it.
Former MMDA Traffic Chief Edison Bong Nebrija also previously addressed a similar situation, stressing that parking spaces are meant for vehicles.
“A parking slot is reserved for a vehicle, hindi sa tao… Tatandaan po natin na ang parking na ‘yan whether private or public is first come, first serve,” said Nebrija.
