You could argue that the event started early, as it has been teased since the game’s most recent update.
No doubt previously released horror skins will return to the store, too.

When is Fortnitemares 2024?
The Fortnitemares 2024 start date is Saturday 12th October, Epic Games has confirmed.
This is in line with what popular leaker HYPEX stated, who said that the event start date would fall between 11th and 15th October.
Now that the Dr Doom-themed live event has been and gone, it’s time for things to get a bit scary. It is spooky season, after all.
What can you expect from Fortnitemares 2024?
Epic Games has released a short teaser trailer for the Fortnitemares 2024 event, which you can watch below:
So far, there isn’t too much official information to go off outside the skins in the trailer above.
Billy the doll from Saw is now in the game, though.
This will also tie in with the Saw event set to release at the same time.
The event has been leaked to introduce a new Mythic item, a Boom Billy Bike that chases opponents and explodes upon impact. New quests will also be introduced to tie in.
Oh, Nightmare Before Christmas is back as well!
Other leaks suggest new changes to the map are on the way, too.
Rumours also hint that the horde mode may return to the game, but there has been nothing solid to confirm this – if it does arrive, it will be a welcome addition.
