Singer-songwriter and producer Shye has released a new single “coffee or tea”, a perfect song to fall in love to, inspired by rainy day umbrella scenes from Korean, Japanese and Thai romance dramas. Fans can stream the song here.
“Writing this song makes me want to fall in love too,” shares Shye. “It was inspired by rainy day umbrella scenes from romance dramas. I hope this song can resonate with listeners whether or not they’ve already found their person. If they have, I hope it can soundtrack parts of their life and be a song that they can slow dance to. For those who are longing for a future with someone, love can seem elusive but maybe this song can help us dream about finding our own person.”
Shye is also part of the lineup of the ASIYA Music Festival and Conference on October 12 & 13, 2024 to be held at the World Trade Center, Pasay City. She will be performing on Day 2 – October 13 sharing the stage with BINI, juan karlos, Zild, etc.

Shye is an independent singer-songwriter and music producer from Singapore. She oversees the creative process of writing, recording and production from home and is also the mixing and mastering engineer responsible for all her music. Shye’s music is inspired by a mixture of dreamy indie/electronic pop and alternative rock.
A self-taught artist, Shye began her music journey at the age of 16 when she entered a music competition for fun and emerged unexpectedly as the winner, with music from her debut EP ‘Augus7ine’ in 2018. Shye followed up with her 14-track debut album ‘days to morning glory’ in 2020. In the following year, Shye released her second EP ‘hello TRINITY’ followed by ‘idk it’s complicated’ in 2022. Her next body of work, ‘9LIVES’ followed suit in October of 2023.

Shye was named ‘Best New Act from Asia’ at the 2022 BandLab NME Awards and received the 2022 KKBOX ‘Rising Star Award’. In 2023, Shye was added to the Forbes Asia 30 under 30 list. She also took part in the China music reality show《青年派计划》broadcasted on Mango TV where she emerged a finalist, and participated in the idol survival show Chuang Asia Thailand. This year, Shye was added to Tatler Asia’s Gen. T Leaders of Tomorrow 2024 and is the cover star for FEMALE Magazine’s June 2024 issue, and for Aplus Magazine’s September 2024 issue.
