Home CCTV Captures Unexpected Interaction Between Delivery Driver and Cats

Hearts are melting on social media over security camera footage that captured an unexpected reaction from cats when a delivery driver dropped off a package.

TikTok user @_oliverandcompany said in an August 22 clip that their outdoor cats normally bolt from any delivery driver who comes to the house. But in this particular instance, they had a different reaction. The cats immediately picked up on the delivery driver’s energy and were “so chill.”

Unafraid, they paused as she dropped off the packages. They were curious about her and what she was doing. She paused to acknowledge them, saying hello before returning to the vehicle, but no petting occurred. That is still more than other drivers do. The owner said in the comments section that she is the only driver who takes time to stop and greet the cats.

The owner wrote: “You can see how kind she is and how friendly her energy is around our cats.”

Wanting more attention from the driver, one of the cats jumped off the deck as she turned to leave. The cat was following her to thank her for her kindness, which is also what the owner wanted to do by posting the video.

The text on the video reads: “If anyone recognizes her in the Ashville area, tell her she is the nicest person we’ve ever seen interact with our cats.”

Newsweek reached out to Amazon for a statement about the video. Mimi Swain, chief commercial officer at Amazon Ring, a home security company, said: “We love seeing moments of connection between people and pets. At Ring, we encourage and foster positive interactions, and we appreciate the joy moments like this can bring to strengthen the sense of community in the neighborhoods we serve.”

The TikTok video amassed over 45,200 views, 2,038 likes and 35 comments as of Tuesday. People were touched by the woman’s kindness.

“Kitties always can tell who’s good and who’s not. I always trust my two guys,” said one viewer, while another echoed this: “Animals use their intuition they can feel your energy.”

A previous delivery driver wrote: “I did this for a while and couldn’t get anything done bc of petting people’s pets. Gosh, I love cats the most.”

Someone pointed out: “Your tux was thinking about going with her!”
