While you instantly gain access to over one hundred fighters when you first boot up the game, there are fan favorites like Bardock, Janemba, and Ultra Instinct Goku who you won’t have access to right away.

Dragon Ball Sparking Zero unlockable characters
Every character in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero can be unlocked by completing missions in the Episode Battle game mode, reaching certain Player Levels, and winning specific tournaments. If you complete the entirety of Episode Battle, reach Player Level 20, and win every tournament, you will unlock every character in the game.
If you want to drastically speed up the process, you also have the option to purchase characters using Zeni, the in-game currency.

You can unlock certain characters by winning tournaments, saving you from spending any Zeni. When it comes to tournaments, the game doesn’t care what difficulty to beat your opponents on, so you should take advantage of this if you’re struggling to win fights. If you’re running low on money, simply set the difficulty to ‘weak’.
The fastest way to unlock every Dragon Ball Sparking Zero character is to own the Ultimate Edition of the game, allowing you to immediately summon both Shenron and Super Shenron. Spend your wishes on the ‘I want more Zeni’ option, then claim a third additional wish by unlocking the challenges in Zen-Oh’s Orders.
