According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is gearing up for a major hardware launch later this fall. In his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman reveals that the company plans to unveil its next generation of M-series powered Macs and a redesigned iPad mini on November 1, 2024.
As per the report, the keynote address, likely to be a virtual event similar to previous launches, is expected to take place in late October, followed by the official product launch on November 1st.This timeline aligns with Apple’s usual fall release schedule.
Likely features of upcoming M4 Macs
Gurman’s report suggests a range of new M4 Macs will be showcased during the event. The lineup is expected to include:
- A new version of the budget-friendly 14-inch
MacBook Pro equipped with the M4 chip. - Higher-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models powered by the M4 Pro and M4 Max chips for enhanced performance.
- An updated iMac featuring the M4 chip for a desktop powerhouse.
- A redesigned Mac mini with M4 and M4 Pro variants, catering to power users and professionals.
These new Macs promise significant performance improvements over their M2 predecessors. Users can expect faster processing, improved graphics capabilities, and enhanced efficiency.

The November 1st event is also expected to see the unveiling of the long-awaited iPad mini 7.
