MacBook Air, iPad Air, iPhone SE updates planned for early 2025

Apple will update a number of its consumer and pro products across 2025.

A new report claims that Apple is pushing back the release of its next MacBook Air and iPad Air models into the first half of 2025.

With the launch of the iPhone 16 range now behind it, Apple is turn to the release of devices across the rest of its range. According to Bloomberg, that release schedule has been revised to spread out the device launches across the remainder of 2024, and the first half of 2025.

Specifically, it’s claimed that Apple will now hold a MacBook Pro, Mac mini and iPad mini event in late October, with devices shipping on November 1, 2024. Then before the end of 2024, there should also be an M4 iMac.

Updated MacBook Air and iPad Air models, however, will have to wait until the first half of 2025. It’s claimed that around the same time, Apple will release M4-based 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models.

The rumor says that updated 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Airs will also arrive in spring 2025.

This may coincide with the previously-rumored 2025 iPhone SE model. Updated Magic Keyboards for the iPad Air, along with an upgraded AirTag item tracker, are likely to arrive ahead of June’s WWDC conference.

In terms of major product releases, the next version of the Mac Studio and Mac Pro will likely arrive in the second half of 2025. As usual, the iPhone 17 lineup along with an updated Apple Watch Series 11 will be announced in the fall.
