‘Croissant’ for iOS enables seamless cross-posting across your favorite social networks

In an age of more social networks than ever, managing your content across all of them can be pretty time-consuming. That’s where the incredibly cleverly named “Croissant” app enters the equation. Developed by Ben McCarthy and Aaron Vegh, Croissant lets you post to Threads, Mastodon, and Bluesky with a beautifully designed interface.

Croissant allows you to sign in to Threads, Mastodon, and Bluesky using each respect service’s native log-in experience.

In my case, I signed in to my personal Threads, Mastodon, and Bluesky accounts and 9to5Mac’s accounts on each of those services. This makes it incredibly easy to cross-post across my personal accounts or 9to5Mac’s accounts in a single interface. It’s a far, far better experience than bouncing between each individual app and account manually, even if the log-in flow can be a little tedious on the first run.

When crafting a post in Croissant, you have a distraction-free interface where you can write the post itself as well as add images, alt text, and hashtags. The app also supports creating threads, adding content warnings for Mastodon, and controlling audience visibility options for Threads and Mastodon.

The app’s interface is also customizable, allowing you to choose between eight different color options and seven different custom app icons. You can also save posts as drafts and return to them later.

Croissant is available on the App Store for free, with an in-app purchase of $2.99 per month or $19.99 per year to unlock all features. There’s also a one-time payment option of $59.99. Other social media management tools like Buffer, are significantly more expensive.

Not everyone has to manage multiple social media accounts across multiple services. For those of us who do, however, Croissant is an incredibly useful app that feels right at home on my iPhone.
