Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 has officially unveiled the PC system requirements for the game. Gamers who intend to play Civilization 7 can now determine whether their PCs are up to the task with minimum, recommended, and ultra system requirements.

Civilization 7 has been a long time coming, but players have to wait a bit longer for the title to finally launch. Fans of the series will finally be able to play Civilization 7 starting on February 11, 2025, which gives players plenty of time to make sure their computers are ready for it.

Civilization 7 has confirmed the game’s system requirements via official channels. In all, the system requirements seem fairly approachable, with a GPU as old as an Nvidia GTX 1050, an Intel i3 CPU, and a mere 8 GB of RAM being the major requirements to achieve 1080p and 30FPS on low settings. However, like many modern games, players should note that an SSD is listed as a minimum requirement, so the game may not run as intended on computers relying on HDDs.

For those who don’t want to settle for low settings, players can expect 1080p at 60FPS with an Intel Core i5 or better, an Nvidia RTX 2060, and 16 GB of RAM. Ultra Settings increase system requirements dramatically, however. For 4K resolution and 60 FPS, PC gamers will need an Intel Core i7-14700F or better, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070, and 32 GB of RAM. All systems will need Windows 10 or above and DirectX Version 12.

Civilization 7 will also be playable on MacOS and Linux, but the developer does not yet have system requirements to share for those systems. PC gamers should also be aware that Civilization 7 will use Denuvo DRM.
