A man was arrested in Brgy. San Nicolas after allegedly slashing the neck of his live-in partner while under the influence of illegal substances.

According to a report by News5, the suspect, in a fit of hallucination, suddenly put his arm around the victim and slashed her neck without warning.

Neighbors rushed to help upon seeing the victim, bleeding and struggling to escape their home.

She was immediately brought to the nearest hospital for emergency treatment.

Brgy. Chairman Clifford Nina confirmed that the suspect appeared to suffer a nervous breakdown at the time of the incident.

“He was repeatedly saying someone was trying to kill him,” Nina said, suggesting the man was experiencing severe paranoia.

A barangay tanod revealed that this was not the first troubling incident involving the couple.

In a previous case, the suspect allegedly tried to jump out of a window while carrying their baby, raising concerns about his mental state and behavior.

Authorities have since taken the man into custody, and he is now facing charges.

Police are continuing their investigation into the incident, including the role of illegal substances in his actions.

The victim remains in the hospital, with no further updates yet on her condition.
