COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. — The Penn State Master Gardeners of Montgomery County are holding a Workshop on Dividing Perennials on Saturday, October 26th from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the Farm, Home & Youth Complex (the 4-H Center), at 1015 Bridge Road (Route 113), Collegeville, PA  19426.  

This workshop includes an indoor lecture covering the benefits of dividing perennials, why fall is a good time to divide them, how to know when perennials should be divided, how to avoid root damage and how to replant your new divisions. Then, attendees will examine different types of perennial root systems, such as day lilies, hostas, asters, bee balm, golden ragwort and cone flowers. 

Workshop presenters are Master Gardeners of Montgomery County, volunteers who have been specially trained and certified by Penn State Extension. Master Gardeners provide education on a broad range of horticultural topics and can advise community residents on best practices based on university research and recommendations.
