Better Business Bureau – Tips to make sure your event ticket is legit | Building A Better Community

BBB

(WSIL) — Most of us enjoy a good show. We have had some really great ones in our area recently, from Bone Thugs in Harmony to Nate Smith. But we’ve also had a ticket mishap, with the Nelly show at the Du Quoin State Fair. So, how do you make sure your ticket is legitimate? Sydney Waters with the Cape Girardeau Business Bureau joined us for an interview to give us some tips.

Waters’ first suggestion has to do with where you purchase the ticket. Her best suggestion is to purchase your ticket directly from the vendor. According to Waters, most vendors are now offering resale ticket prices as well.

Another suggestion Waters gave, utilizing the National Association of Ticket Brokers. When you purchase your ticket through one of their approved vendors, there’s a 200% money back guarantee.

Finally, she said, you should make sure to check a few boxes before you submit payment. Always be sure you’re using a credible and safe link by looking for the “https:” – the ‘s’ signifies a secure site. You’ll also want to check your fees and total before checking out.
