Nintendo Switch gamers surprised with free Animal Crossing download for October

Claim these freebies

If you want to claim some Nintendo Switch freebies to represent the video games you love, then you’re in the right place.

As nice as it is to claim free video games and DLC on PC, PlayStation or Xbox, it’s also welcome when we can claim free items to represent our favourite games whether it’s fancy themes or the topic of today’s discussion, profile icons.

Check out the Animal Crossing: New Horizons review below!

Nintendo is the home of many beloved franchises such as Super Mario, Pokémon, Metroid, The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing and many more. That being said, if you’re a fan of the latter, then you might want to claim these free icons before it’s too late.

The most recent entry in the Animal Crossing series is New Horizons released on the Nintendo Switch in 2020 and is credited for helping many gamers get through the COVID pandemic by keeping fans of the series connected all over the world.

Right now, as brought to our attention by the Twitter account NSO Icons Alerts, you can download free Animal Crossing profile icons for October. While you can use free icons already available on our Nintendo Switch by default, these exclusive icons are purchased with Platinum coins, one of the two free currencies that Nintendo offers.

You can access the free icons via the Nintendo Switch home screen by going to ‘Nintendo Switch Online’ and then selecting the ‘Missions & Rewards’ section. Depending on which icons you choose, they will cost five or 10 Platinum coins.

It’s always worth checking ‘Missions & Rewards’ via the Nintendo Switch home screen often because new icons arrive on a rotational basis. So if Animal Crossing doesn’t tickle your fancy, the chances are that the next batch will.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now and if you subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion, you’ll get its DLC, Happy Home Paradise at no extra cost.
