An Aussie hair care company is offering dog owners the chance to have a picture of their fur baby plastered on its packaging in their quest for Instagram’s prettiest pooch.
Wahl Australia will launch its 2024 Next Pet Model competition on October 2 as they hunt for the nation’s next dog-fluencer.
Dog mum Phylice Wooten has an Instagram account — @the.pombros — with more than 10,000 followers dedicated to her two Pomeranian fur babies, Simba and Chewie.
“I just use the account to share pictures that I love of the dogs and what makes me happy,” the Baldivis local told The West.
“I just want to spread their joy around.
“They love posing for the camera and they love getting treats out of it … they’re more than happy to get dressed up and go along with it.
“(The Instagram account) just helps us connect with other Pomeranian people so I can get communication and knowledge out of it.”
Fresh research from Wahl found almost 70 per cent of women would be more heartbroken to be dumped by a partner than lose their dog.
Wahl’s 2024 Next Pet Model competition will see prizes awarded to first, second and third place, including a three-night stay at a pet friendly hotel, a $1000 goodie bag and an exclusive opportunity for the winner’s furry friend to be featured on Wahl’s packaging.
To enter, owners need to upload a picture of their pup to Instagram, tag @wahlaustralia and use the hashtag #WahlPetModel24.
“Pomeranians are a really amazing breed and styling and grooming is a big part of having a Pomeranian and Wah have an amazing range for humans and dogs,” Ms Wooten said.
