A couple was discovered lifeless inside the kitchen of their restaurant in Marawi City, Lanao Del Sur.

Police said they received a call from a concerned citizen who tipped them off about the situation.

This came after the bloodied bodies of the couple, who were known business owners, were found.

The woman had a cut at the back of her head, while the man sustained injuries on his face and back.

In a report by TV5’s ‘ Frontline Pilipinas Weekend,’ the current persons of interest of the authorities are the couple’s helpers.

“Noong nangyari iyon, parang umalis sila (helpers). Sila ‘yung ating hinahanap ngayon. May mga information na kami na nagtatago na sila. Continous ‘yung manhunt operation nation,” P/Lt.Col. MUHIDDIN PAGAYAWAN OFFICER-IN-CHARGE, MARAWI CITY POLICE.

According to the police, stealing was the possible motive behind the crime because they found the personal belongings of the victims all over the place.

Apart from their adopted son, the couple had no other companions at home.

In the Philippines, a “person of interest” is someone who may have information related to a crime but is not officially a suspect yet.

This person might have been seen near the crime scene, connected to the victim, or mentioned during the investigation.

Authorities believe this individual might help in solving the case, whether as a possible suspect, a witness, or someone with valuable knowledge.

Being labeled a person of interest does not automatically mean the person is guilty—it simply means the police want to talk to or investigate the person further.

If enough evidence is later found, the person of interest may be formally named a suspect and face charges.

This allows investigators to follow leads without making formal accusations right away.
