— Two young actors with Filipino descent lead the cast of “Final Destination Bloodlines,” the sixth installment of the popular horror franchise.
“Final Destination Bloodlines” follows Filipino-Canadian Kaitlyn Santa Juana as Stefani Reyes, a college student who inherits her grandmother’s premonitions about death and attempts to save her family when they start dying one by one.
This is the first film in the franchise since 2011’s “Final Destination 5” and since its release has been receiving rave reviews from critics and audiences like, calling it the best of the series yet.
Co-director Zach Lipovsky described the cast as unique, grounded, and relatable, “You really needed to believe their chemistry and history from all having been together for a really long time.”
Kaitlyn’s previous acting credits include the 2022 movies “The Friendship Game,” “He’s Not Worth Dying For,” “We Need a Little Christmas,” a recurring role on “The Flash,” and an understudy on “Dear Evan Hansen.”
The actress believes her character becomes three different people over the course of the film, as detective, then a protector, and finally, a survivor.
“What’s unique about this movie is that it’s not a premonition [like the previous entries], it’s a recurring nightmare of something that happened 50 years ago. It’s a huge twist,” she added.

Portraying her brother is Filipino-American actor Teo Briones, son of JonJon Briones and sister of “The Pitt” star Isa Briones.
Teo previously appeared in the “Chucky” television series with Devon Sawa, star of the first “Final Destination” movie. Upon learning he got the part, Teo immediately texted Devon.
“Devon regaled me with all kinds of stories that made me realize the ride I was in for. He told me that being a part of a death is a long and arduous process,” Teo shared. “The days are long and brutal, but they’re fun, and he told me I was in for an awesome journey that I was never going to forget. And that’s true!”
The young actor also talked about his connection with Isa played a role in his onscreen relationship with Kaitlyn.
“My relationship and connection with my own sister is one of the most important things in my life. Being able to recreate that a little bit in this movie was very special. Kaitlyn’s amazing, she’s so easy to work with. It didn’t really feel like acting in our scenes; it just felt like I was talking to my big sister,” Teo said.
Also starring in “Final Destination Bloodlines” are Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Rya Kihlstedt, Anna Lore, Brec Bassinger, and Tony Todd in his last film appearance after his death last November.
