Show off your creativity with the A&M Garden Club’s Youth Contest

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The A&M Garden Club is holding a Youth Contest which aims to help showcase creativity in our area.

Joni Eberle and Linda Kenyon with the Garden Club joined First News at Four to explain more about the contest.

“We have a contest that is for our local school age students. We have poetry, there’s a recycling sculpture contest, there’s some posters, and then an essay contest as well; and each one has a different grade level associated with [them],” Elberle said.

The club has a standardized scale used to grade each project submitted.

“In the past years, some of our contest winners have actually gone to the national level and once they get past us, they could earn money for these. So, it’s really kind of neat. We get to see people share their creativity and, at the same time, honor our environment,” Kenyon added.
