Days Gone remaster leaves PlayStation gamers furious

Bloodborne who?

With rumours that Days Gone is set to be the next title receiving a PlayStation 5 remaster, fans are understandably unhappy.

This rumour originates from a tweet by VGC’s Jordan Middler who claims that 2019’s post-apocalyptic open-world title Days Gone is next to receive a remaster courtesy of Sony.

If this is true, it will be a mere five years since the title was first released for the PlayStation 4 but with no sequel planned for the Bend Studio IP, a remaster wouldn’t be too far-fetched.

However, with many older (and higher-rated) games which could receive a remaster (*cough cough* Bloodborne *cough cough*), fans are less than pleased.

Not only is Days Gone a fairly new release, it is also considered as one of the least popular PlayStation IPs and just this week, we have seen how unhappy fans are with news of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered getting an ESRB rating.

So we can only imagine the discourse if Days Gone is next.

The rumour hit social media over the past few days and gamers are less than pleased.

“I swear down if this is Days Gone I’m not gonna be happy,” one comment read over on Twitter.

“We want a sequel not a damn remaster of the game.”

Another said: “Wait, so it’s a Days Gone remaster? Doesn’t it already run at 4K at 60fps on the PS5 and has a PC port less than three years old?”

They continued, “So let me get this straight, the first two games they’ll announce for the PS5 Pro are two remasters of late gen PS4 games? Sony lost their minds.”

The major elephant in the room is that titles such as Bloodborne, which was first released in 2015 and remains a PS4 exclusive, has still received no word of a remaster or remake of any kind.

This is the case despite it being one of the most-requested of… well, all time.

However, it seems as though Sony has other plans but with gamers this unhappy, it may need to buck up its ideas.
