JENKS, Okla. — Oklahoma Alliance for Animals (OAA), along with over 35 rescues and event sponsors, have teamed up to get as many pets into loving homes with Woofstock.
“We have about 28-30 rescue organizations and we have about 10 nonprofits here. the rest of the people are vendors,” said OAA President Jamee Suarez.
Oklahoma shelters and rescues are overcapacity. Lifesaving adoptions are needed to continue helping pets throughout the state.
“It’s a fun-filled event. It’skind of laid back,” Suarez said
Woofstock, Oklahoma’s largest and grooviest pet adoption event, took place at Riverwalk Crossing in Jenks on Saturday morning.
The event included pet-related vendors and businesses, $10 microchipping and free ID tags, demonstrations, live music, and more.
There was a pet food drive benefiting OAA’s Pet Food Pantry and attendees were able to bring unopened bags of dry dog or cat food to donate.
Attendees could receive free entry into a raffle with their donation.
Attendees were invited to bring their own pets to enjoy the day and activities.
