2,000 Night Patrollers Deployed for Safer Central Luzon

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Over 2,000 policemen have been deployed across Central Luzon to enhance public safety, prevent criminality, and ensure strong police presence at night.

In a statement on Thursday, Police Regional Office 3 (PRO-3) chief Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo said the “night patrollers” are deployed to strategic locations as part of the Philippine National Police’s broader campaign to uphold peace and order in the region.

“These strengthened operations are a direct response to the President’s call for a safer, more disciplined society,” Fajardo said.

“We are focusing on high-risk areas and maximizing our capabilities to keep our communities secure. Public safety is our top priority.”

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. recently launched “Cops On the Beat” program, which aims to boost police visibility in communities.

Fajardo said beginning on Wednesday night, the night patrollers were mobilized across urban centers, provincial capitals, commercial districts, transport terminals, and other densely populated areas.

She said the teams are composed of personnel from various Police Provincial Offices and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion.

“The nightwatch patrol teams are tasked with safeguarding travelers, motorists, and the general public during nighttime hours,” Fajardo said.
“Their mission is to deter crime, maintain order, and ensure rapid response to any security threats.”

Fajardo also highlighted the use of advanced tools such as updated crime mapping, time-based incident analysis, and predictive policing strategies to sharpen their anti-crime operations.

“We are intensifying the presence of patrol teams particularly in urban hubs, commercial zones, and major thoroughfares to ensure public safety and to facilitate swift action in case of emergencies,” she said.

Fajardo assured the public that police personnel remain on high alert 24/7, committed to protecting lives, property, and the peace and order of communities throughout Central Luzon. (PNA)
