CLOSE to 200 individuals have benefitted from the Medical and Dental Outreach Mission in Pagadian City, the capital of Zamboanga del Sur, the military said Sunday, May 18, 2025.
The 53rd Infantry Battalion (53IB) said the outreach mission was held Saturday, May 17, at the Rotary Inner Wheel Elementary School, Purok Diwalwal, Dao village, Pagadian City.
The 53IB said the outreach mission provided various services: 81 residents received general medical consultations, 62 benefited from dental care, 30 children underwent free circumcision, and 18 individuals availed of free haircut services.
“These services directly addressed immediate health and hygiene needs in an area with limited access to medical facilities,” the 53IB said in a statement.
“More than a health mission, it represented a shared commitment to uplift lives and promote wellness through cooperation and compassion,” the 53IB added.
The outreach mission was jointly held by the 53IB, Tactical Operations Group-9, Kampo Cesar Sang-an Station Hospital, and the Rotary Club of Pagadian City.
The 53IB said the battalion and its partners reaffirmed their unwavering dedication to serving the people, ensuring that the spirit of Bayanihan continues to bring hope, healing, and unity in Zamboanga del Sur. (SunStar Zamboanga)
