A total of 1,021 residents from four barangays in Lubao town benefitted from a medical mission held over the weekend at the Lubao Gymnasium.

The activity was led by Pampanga Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Lubao Mayor Esmie Pineda.

The provincial government said the medical mission, under the Alagang Nanay Preventive Health Care, served 224 individuals from Barangay Prado Siongco, 211 from Barangay Baruya, 286 from Barangay San Roque Arbol, and 300 from Barangay Sto. Niño.

Patients underwent free laboratory examinations and medical assessments, facilitated by the Provincial Health Office in coordination with volunteer doctors and nurses.

Results of the laboratory tests were used by health professionals during consultations to determine appropriate treatment and medicines.

Free prescription medicines were also distributed during the event.

In addition to medical services, free reading glasses were provided to some residents.

Insulin shots were administered to diabetic patients with the help of the Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital.

A PhilHealth desk was also set up to accommodate patients enrolled in the government’s Konsulta Caravan program.

Each beneficiary received a food pack and transportation allowance.

The Alagang Nanay Preventive Health Care Program was designed to promote early detection and treatment of serious illnesses such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and kidney ailments.
