17 Davao Graduates Top March 2025 Teachers Licensure Exam

A TOTAL of 17 Dabawenyos topped the March 2025 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers in the elementary and secondary levels.

In the elementary level, Mary Katherine Pecasales of the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) placed fifth with a rating of 93.60 percent; Maria Catrina Germo of USeP-Tagum placed sixth with 93.40 percent; Glenisse Grace Buelis of USeP-Davao placed ninth with 92.80 percent; and Jamaica Taypin of the University of Mindanao (UM)-Digos City placed tenth with 92.60 percent.

Meanwhile, in the high school level, Floyd Bandalan of UM-Tagum and Leejane Cogollodo of UM-Panabo both placed second with a rating of 93.60 percent. Irene Fe Navea of UM-Tagum and Jemima Keziah Castro of Davao de Oro State College-Main placed third with 93.40 percent. 

Jestonie Bapilar and Mark Padilla of Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) placed fifth with 93 percent.

Kimwel Boy Cortez of Christian Colleges of Southeast Asia (CCSA); Dhana Jean Latayada of Southern Philippines Baptist Theological Seminary (SPBTS); and Mary Grace Ramos of Assumption College of Nabunturan placed seventh with 92.60 percent.

Noralshalah Guiamalodin of UM-Digos placed eighth with 92.40 percent. Arnel Mamac and John Kenneth Masagca of UM-Tagum placed ninth with 92.20 percent.

The top three in the elementary level are Jamaema Mustapha of Mindanao State University (MSU) and Raeiden Pango of MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology, both with 94.60 percent, followed by Nikhar Mae Alegria of MSU-General Santos City.

Moreover, the top three in the high school level are Jeanlyn Colipano of Cebu Technological University with 93.80 percent, followed by Sofia Atienza of the University of the Philippines (UP)-Diliman; John Reynor Pionilla of UP-Los Baños; Bandalan and Cogollodo with 93.60 percent; and Castro and Navea in third.

According to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), a total of 16,282 examinees for the elementary level out of 34,810, or 46.77 percent, passed the examination, while 38,747 examinees for the secondary level out of 62,225, or 62.27 percent, passed.

The examination was conducted on March 23, 2025, at testing centers in the National Capital Region (NCR), Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Calapan, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Palawan, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, Zamboanga, Bacolod, Bayambang, Bohol, Catanduanes, Cauayan, Digos, Dumaguete, General Santos, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Kidapawan, Laguna, Maasin (Southern Leyte), Masbate, Mati, Occidental Mindoro, Oroquieta, Romblon, Tagum, and Valencia.
