A 15-year-old boy tragically lost his life in an explosion after he and two companions attempted to cut into what authorities believe was a vintage bomb.

The incident occurred in Baungon, Bukidnon, according to a report by Brigada News PH.
Initial investigations suggest that the group may have mistaken the explosive device for a gold bar.
Driven by curiosity and the hope of uncovering something valuable, the teen, along with an 18-year-old and a 33-year-old companion, attempted to cut through the object, which triggered the fatal blast.

All three victims were rushed to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center following the explosion.
Despite efforts to save them, the 15-year-old succumbed to his injuries. The conditions of the two other victims have not been disclosed as of writing.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the nature of the explosive and how it ended up in the area.
They are also reminding the public to immediately report any suspicious metal objects or unidentified materials to local authorities and not to handle them, as they could be remnants of old wartime explosives still capable of detonating.

Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
